The latest neuroscience tells us that the brains of us ADHD, Autistic, OCD & SpLD folk are quite literally wired differently to typical brains. Moreover, each neurodivergent person experiences unique combinations of the 100+ traits across the wider spectrum of neurodivergence, shifting with age and changing circumstances.
Despite this, most offerings aimed at neurodivergent people are built on inflexible systems made by and for neurotypical brains.
Worse, they often address a limited set of stereotypical traits associated with specific conditions, such as attention or focus.
Meanwhile, what peer groups can provide with a sense of inclusion, they often lack in expertise and facilitation to ensure positive outcomes for participants.
How are you different from other providers?
We created Weirdly Successful on the core understanding that every neurodivergent person experiences unique combinations of the 100+ traits across the wider spectrum of neurodivergence.
As late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults ourselves, we’ve built our offerings from the ground up to serve as spaces where people can feel safe to explore their neurodivergent traits and challenges while feeling validated and reassured.
Our 17-year background in adult education enables us to turn insights from the latest scientific consensus into practical and accessible teaching materials, supported by a range of workshop techniques to fit various learning modalities.
Guided discussions,
lived experience sharing,
and mutual encouragement & validation
ensure our groups retain their
community learning aspect throughout.
Keeping a solution-oriented approach with clear milestones, goals, and takeaways helps participants understand themselves better and devise their own positive coping strategies that they can utilise long after sessions have ended.
Who are these trainings for?
We’ve developed these trainings specifically for adults who:
- suspect they might be neurodivergent, or
- are currently queueing for a formal assessment, or
- have been diagnosed with one or more neurodivergent conditions, such as ADHD, ASC, SPD, OCD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia or Dyscalculia
Will it work for me?
People have found our approach useful in circumstances including:
- Freshly diagnosed, left with as many questions as answers
- Late diagnosed after decades of misdiagnosis
- Gone through big life changes (move, career change, midlife, menopause)
- Parents who recognised their own traits through their child’s diagnosis
- Young adults trying to figure out ‘adulting’
- Small business owners, freelancers & those with a ‘portfolio career’
- Working professionals struggling with time & self-management
